IE7 to be launched via Windows(Microsoft) Update says Microsoft
Posted by trm96 | Filed under Site News
The Redmond company is planning to push IE7 for XP and Server 2003 via windows (Microsoft) Update later this year, according to CNET it’s not such a good idea and warns: "This has serious implications for e-commerce websites whose functionality might be affected by any bugs in the software. Also to have end users suddenly using a new browser right before the holiday shopping season could magnify the cost any bugs that might create a bad user experience on sites." But like always M$ is always right lol.
Vista more insecure than XP says Symantec

Security giant Symantec is researching Vista’s security (or lack there of). They are finding that XP’s tried and tested code is more reliable than Vista’s newly written (and as of yet largely untested) code. As of yet though there has not many (if any) security holes that directly target Vista exploited as of yet.

Dell notebook goes BOOM!
Posted by trm96 | Filed under Site News
I could net believe this when I read it on Neowin this morning. Apparently during a conference in Japan a Dell notebook burst into flames “and produced several explosions for more than five minutes” according to Gaston, an onlooker. It was unclear what model of Dell notebook it was, but he was sure it was a Dell. Gaston goes on to say “It is only a matter of time until such an incident breaks out on a plane,”.
There are some amazing pics on the Inquirer’s site.
