It seems like another BT site has been shut down, this time its Demonoid. I went to check out the letest torrents and I am greated with: “The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.”

When will this attack on BT stop!?

Comcast/BT Part 6: Comcast’s rebuttle

As reported here and around the net about Comcast’s blocking (or at least throttling) BitTorrent/P2P traffic, Comcast finely admits to something. A Comcast executive said the company was not stopping file transfers from happening, only postponing them in certain cases. He compared it to making a phone call and getting a busy signal, then trying again and getting through.

Device drivers deactivating Vista

Have you ever swapped out a video card? There have been reports that in some cases Vista has been deactivating after such a swap or worse yet just updating device drivers. Users affected will have very little notice before Windows stops working by going into a “reduced functionality” mode, where you can’t do anything but use the web browser for half an hour. You’ll then need to reapply to Microsoft to get a new activation code.

Staples to sell Dell computers.

Dell has signed an agreement with Staples to sell Dell computers in their stores by November 11. They will start out only selling Inspiron 1721 and 1521 notebooks and Inspiron 530 desktops, but wil branch out form there later. The deal is Dell’s second with a retailer after signing a similar one with Wal-Mart in May of this year.
