A C|Net writer Don Reisinger is calling out to all the tech-minded people to arms. Instead of quoting the article I think it’s best you just read it for your self. He makes a lot of very good points. I was proud to see that someone is actually looking out for us; the “geeks” of the world.

BayWords starts the free speech bloging movement

The people who brought you the Pirate Bay bring you a new blog dedicated to un-centered free speech called BayWords. The blog bosts that you will be able to post anything. The blog is undoubtedly going to cause some a lot of controversy but then again the people responsible for the Pirate Bay are used to controversy. I will keep my eyes glued to the site in the coming months, and report anything worth while.

PayPal to block ‘unsafe’ browsers

If you are using Apple’s Safari or Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and you use PayPal you might be finding your self using another browser to access your PayPal account. The reason is they are to block access to your account using those browsers and other browsers they call “unsafe”. Under this proposed action you will not be able to use any web browser that does not contain “anti-phishing protection”. This action is in direct relation to the number of instances of “phishing” attacks on it’s users.

PS3 2.30 Firmware released today

Sony released today version 2.30 or the PS3 firmware today. The new firmware improves Blu-Ray playback and also launches the new Playstation Store.
I have yet to test the playing of a Blu-Ray movie on the FW so I cannot comment about it. But I can say that the PS Store looks nice but appears to be a tad bit slow. Screens coming soon I will upload them to Flickr and link them here when I do…

Blockbuster offers to buy Circuit City

Blockbuster has put in a bid to buy the electronics chain Circuit City for $1.33 billion. Circuit City witch has struggled recently because of Best Buy’s dominance in the consumer electronics retail sector, witch already has claimed the life of CompUSA. Circuit City is expected to agree to the deal aimed at “taking advantage of the global trend of putting media content on electronic devices”, Blockbuster said on Monday.
