Opera the first to pass Acid3/Safari (Update)
Posted by trm96 | Filed under Technology News
Open source web browser maker Opera claim to be the first browser to pass the Acid3 test, also Apple says their browser Safari 3.1 also pases the test but at the expense of rather large security holes…
Update:
My experience using Opera (as I just downloaded it) is I cannot confirm Opera’s passing of the Acid 3 test as when I run the test the browser crashes… It does however pass the Acid 2 test. As far as Safari 3.1 (on windows) it fails the Acid 3 but passes the Acid 2. On to Safari 3.1 on OS X, again it fails the Acid 3 and passes the Acid 2.
As an overview here are the browsers and platforms I have tested and their pass/fail
