Going without the www
Posted by trm96 | Filed under Other News, Site News
For a few years now you could access this site without using the www in the URL. I found this kinda old article (Feb 24 2008) on an acquittance’s blog here. I thought about the many people who still use the now outdated sub domain to surf the net, in fact I remember telling someone to go to upload.trm96.com and they came back to me the next day and said that it did not work. Well I quickly figured out that were trying to use www.upload.trm96.com witch does not work.
Please remember in all of your travels on the internet that you dont need to type the www, that all websites that I know of dont need it, and if they do they redirect you to their domain with the www.

July 7th, 2008 at 7:46 pmSadly, there are some domains that are improperly setup. I can name several sites where the www. is required, since there’s no proper redirection setup, or they’ve configured their servers to only accept connections from http://www.domain.com (instead of doing it properly).
I ran into a snag a while ago, where my previous department webpage showed two different pages depending on whether you included the www or not. Way to go people.
