I new worm has been found that affects AMD possessors (both 32 and 64 bit) rather than the operating system as of yet this "Proof of Concept" worm does not contain any harmful payload and so is considered by Symantec to be a low level thereat, but it is the basis for a worm that has a very damaging payload regardless of what OS you are running.

Asus releases a router/HDD

Asus has released a new router (WL-700gE) with a 160GB HDD built right into it. It supports RAID 0 (no SATA) for easy backing up of contents of the built in HDD. It offers an easy to set up an FTP server, serve files to the web/local intranet as well as a full featured router.

Vista more insecure than XP says Symantec

Security giant Symantec is researching Vista’s security (or lack there of). They are finding that XP’s tried and tested code is more reliable than Vista’s newly written (and as of yet largely untested) code. As of yet though there has not many (if any) security holes that directly target Vista exploited as of yet.

RIAA: P2P no longer as big an issue as it was.

It seems like the RIAA may be letting up on it’s stronghold on P2P and piracy (yeah right). “USA Today is reporting the RIAA now claims that the issues surrounding P2P and piracy have been contained and are no longer as big an issue as they once were. From the article; ‘The problem has not been eliminated,’ says association CEO Mitch Bainwol. ‘But we believe digital downloads have emerged into a growing, thriving business, and file-trading is flat.’”
