LifeLock’s Spokesperson ID stolen
Posted by trm96 | Filed under Other News
I’m sure you have seen the commercials on TV for LifeLock and the spokesperson Todd Davis challenging “hackers” to steal his identity, well it may seem as though someone has.
“It seems as though LifeLock isn’t as secure as Todd Davis makes it out. According to a LifeLock spokesman, his identity has been stolen. For two years, Davis has been daring hackers to steal his ID. Looks like he got what he wanted. CNN reports: ‘Now, LifeLock customers in Maryland, New Jersey and West Virginia are suing Davis, claiming his service didn’t work as promised and he knew it wouldn’t, because the service had failed even him.’”

Firefox 3 RC1 now available!
Posted by trm96 | Filed under Other News
Thats right Firefox 3 RC1 is out now but only for nightly tester/Minefield users.
Assuming no new issues are found today the build team will start official prep work for Release Candidate 1 (RC1) tomorrow. QA will start their extensive RC1 test pass on Monday. If all goes well we should have the Release Candidate publicly available in late May.
RC1 is intended for wider scale public testing. Our 1.2M+ active beta users will automatically get updated to RC1 when it is released. If no new showstopper issues are found in RC1 it will become Firefox 3 final. If we find any critical issues we will continue to release new Release Candidates until we are ready for final ship.

A C|Net writer Don Reisinger is calling out to all the tech-minded people to arms. Instead of quoting the article I think it’s best you just read it for your self. He makes a lot of very good points. I was proud to see that someone is actually looking out for us; the “geeks” of the world.
